Privacy Policy

1. The short version

Weblytic is a free tool that fetches a public web page and shows you its meta tags. We do not ask you to create an account, we do not store the URLs you check, and we do not build a profile of you. The site does show advertising, and the advertising network sets its own cookies — that is the one place where third-party tracking enters the picture, and it is described in full in section 5.

2. Who we are

This Privacy Policy applies to the website published at https://weblytic.space/ and to the Open Graph and meta tag previewer hosted there. Throughout this document, "Weblytic", "we", "us" and "our" refer to the operator of that website. "You" refers to anyone who visits it.

If you have any question about this policy, or you want to exercise one of the rights described in section 9, write to contact@weblytic.space.

3. Information we collect

3.1 Information you actively give us

The only place on this site where you can hand us personal information is the contact form. If you choose to use it, you provide your name, your email address, a subject line and a message. We use those details to answer you and for nothing else. We do not add the address to a mailing list and we do not pass it to any third party.

3.2 URLs you submit to the tool

When you paste a URL into the previewer, that address is sent to a script on our server so the page can be downloaded. The downloaded HTML is returned to your browser and discarded. The URL itself is not written to a database, not associated with you, and not retained after the request completes.

One narrow exception applies: to stop the tool being abused as a free scraping service, our server keeps a short-lived counter of how many requests have come from your IP address in the last minute. That counter holds a one-way hash of the IP address and a list of timestamps. It expires automatically and contains no URLs.

3.3 Information collected automatically

Like virtually every website, our hosting provider records standard server access logs. These typically contain your IP address, the time of the request, the page requested, your browser's user-agent string and the referring page. They exist for security and diagnostics — spotting abuse, debugging errors, and keeping the service available — and are rotated on the host's normal schedule.

3.4 If you buy the image tools membership

Buying the ₹20 lifetime membership creates one record, containing your email address, the name you optionally supplied, the access key we generated for you, Razorpay's payment and order references, the amount, and the date. That is the complete list.

We never see your payment details. Card numbers, CVVs, UPI PINs, bank credentials and one-time passwords go directly from you to Razorpay Software Private Limited and are processed on their PCI-DSS compliant systems. They are not transmitted to our server, and we could not retrieve them if we wanted to. What comes back to us is a payment id and a confirmation that the money cleared.

Razorpay is the payment processor and an independent data controller for the information you give it at checkout. Its handling of that data is governed by Razorpay's own privacy policy.

Your email address is used to send your access key, to resend it if you lose it, and to reply if you contact us about your purchase. It is not added to a mailing list and is never shared with anyone.

3.5 Images you process with the tools

None of them reach us. The favicon generator, the image cropper and the image compressor all run inside your own browser using the canvas API. No file is uploaded, no copy is stored, and no record is kept of what you processed. If you disconnected your internet after loading a tool page, the tool would still work — which is the clearest demonstration that nothing is being sent anywhere.

3.6 Information stored in your own browser

Weblytic saves your choice of light or dark mode in local storage, under the key weblytic-theme. This never leaves your device and is not readable by us.

If you are a member, two cookies are also set. wbl_access holds your access key together with a signature, so the site can recognise you for a year without asking for the key again; it is HttpOnly and cannot be read by JavaScript. wbl_member holds nothing but the number 1, and exists only so the page knows whether to show the "PRO" badge in the header. A short-lived PHP session cookie is used alongside them. All three are functional — none is used for tracking or advertising, and clearing them simply means entering your key again.

4. What we deliberately do not collect

• We do not create accounts, so there are no usernames and no passwords to leak.
• We never receive, process or store card numbers, CVVs, UPI PINs or bank credentials.
• We do not keep a history of the URLs you have checked.
• We do not store the HTML of the pages that are fetched.
• We do not receive, store or process any image you use with the tools.
• We do not track which tools you use, or how often.
• We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. There is no circumstance in which we would.
• We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. See section 10.

5. Cookies and advertising

5.1 How cookies are used here

Weblytic itself sets no tracking cookies. The theme preference described in section 3.4 uses local storage rather than a cookie and is purely functional.

However, this site is supported by advertising, and advertising networks set their own cookies in your browser when an ad is served. Those cookies are placed by the ad network, not by us, and they are governed by that network's privacy policy.

5.2 Google AdSense and the DoubleClick cookie

We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google is a third-party vendor and uses cookies to serve ads on this site. Specifically:

• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet.
• Google uses the DoubleClick DART cookie to serve ads based on prior visits to this and other websites.
• You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
• You can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info or optout.networkadvertising.org.
• Google's own handling of data is described in its privacy and terms page for partner sites.

Third-party ad servers or ad networks may also use technologies such as cookies, JavaScript or web beacons in the advertisements that appear on this site. They receive your IP address when this happens. These technologies are used to measure the effectiveness of their campaigns and to personalise the advertising content you see. Weblytic has no access to or control over cookies used by third-party advertisers.

5.3 Managing cookies yourself

Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, either wholesale or per site. The relevant settings are usually found under Privacy, Security, or Site Settings. Blocking advertising cookies does not stop you seeing ads; it makes them less relevant. Nothing on Weblytic breaks if you block all cookies.

6. Third-party services we rely on

We keep the list of external dependencies as short as we reasonably can. At the time of writing it is:

• Our hosting provider, which serves the site and keeps the access logs described in section 3.3.
• Razorpay, which processes payments for the membership. It receives your payment details directly and we never see them.
• Google AdSense, which serves the advertising described in section 5.
• Google Fonts, which serves the typeface used across the site. Requesting a font file exposes your IP address to Google.
• Google's public favicon service, used to show a site icon in the Google snippet preview when the page you are checking does not declare one of its own.
• cdnjs (Cloudflare), which serves the JSZip library the tools load on demand when you download a batch as a ZIP. It is only fetched at that moment, and it receives your IP address as any file request does.

When you use the previewer, your browser also loads the og:image of the page you are checking directly from wherever that image is hosted. That is an ordinary image request from your browser to that third-party server, and it is how the preview can show you the real picture rather than a placeholder.

7. How we use the information we do hold

We use the limited data described above only to:

• Operate and deliver the previewer and the pages of this site.
• Reply to messages you send us through the contact form or by email.
• Detect, investigate and prevent abuse, fraud and technical faults.
• Understand, in aggregate, which pages are used so we know what to improve.
• Comply with legal obligations where we are required to.

We do not use your data for automated decision-making, and we do not profile individual visitors.

8. How long we keep it

Contact form messages are kept for as long as the conversation is useful and are then deleted. The rate-limit counter expires within minutes. Server access logs are kept according to our hosting provider's standard rotation policy, typically a matter of weeks. The theme preference stays in your browser until you clear it.

Membership records are kept for as long as the membership exists, because they are what your access depends on — delete the record and the key stops working. We also need to keep a basic record of payments for tax and accounting purposes. If you ask us to delete your membership, we will, and we will tell you plainly that doing so ends your access.

9. Your rights

9.1 If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK

Under the General Data Protection Regulation you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it erased, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable format. Because we hold so little, exercising most of these rights is usually a matter of us confirming that we have nothing beyond an email thread and then deleting it.

Where we process data, we do so on the basis of legitimate interest (keeping the service running and secure), or your consent (when you choose to send us a message). You may withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.

9.2 If you are a California resident

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion of it, and to opt out of its sale. We do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of, but the rights to know and to request deletion apply and we will honour them.

9.3 How to exercise any of this

Email contact@weblytic.space from the address concerned and tell us what you would like us to do. We aim to respond within 30 days and will not charge you for a reasonable request.

10. Children's privacy

Weblytic is a technical utility intended for website owners, developers and marketers. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

11. Security

The site is served over HTTPS. The fetch endpoint validates and restricts the addresses it will request, refuses non-web protocols, blocks private and internal network addresses, caps response sizes and rate-limits requests. No system is perfectly secure, and we make no absolute guarantee, but we hold so little data that there is very little for an attacker to take.

12. Links to other sites

This site contains links to external websites, and the previewer by its nature displays content from whatever page you ask it to check. We have no control over those sites and are not responsible for their privacy practices. When you follow a link away from Weblytic, the policy of the destination site applies.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the site changes or as the law does. The revised version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be made obvious rather than slipped in quietly. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised policy.
