What Weblytic promises, what it does not, and where the responsibility sits when you act on what the tool tells you.

Last updated: 17 September 2026

1. General information only

Everything published on Weblytic — the previewer itself, the guides, the tag reference, the image size recommendations and the FAQ — is provided for general informational purposes. It is written carefully and kept up to date as best we can, but it is not professional advice and should not be treated as a substitute for testing your own pages on the platforms that matter to you.

By using this website you accept that you do so at your own risk, and that you are responsible for any decision you make on the basis of what you read or see here.

2. Previews are simulations, not guarantees

This is the most important thing on this page, so it deserves to be said plainly.

The Facebook, X, LinkedIn and Google previews shown by this tool are careful reconstructions built from the tags found on the page you submitted. They are not renderings produced by those platforms, and we have no affiliation with any of them. Each platform can and does change its card layout, its truncation points, its image cropping and its fallback behaviour without notice, and each one renders differently on desktop, on mobile web and inside its own app.

Treat the preview as a highly accurate approximation that will catch essentially every missing or malformed tag. Before a launch that really matters, confirm the final result in the platform's own tool — Facebook's Sharing Debugger, X's Card Validator, or LinkedIn's Post Inspector.

Also worth knowing: because platforms cache the first version of a page they scrape, a correct result here does not mean the live card has updated. You may still need to force a re-scrape in the platform's own debugger.

3. Accuracy of the analysis

The tool reads the HTML that our server receives. That is not always identical to what a visitor sees. Pages that build their meta tags with client-side JavaScript, pages that vary their output by user-agent or geography, pages behind a content delivery network with aggressive caching, and pages that serve a challenge page to automated requests can all produce a result that differs from what a browser would show.

Similarly, the recommendations in the health check reflect widely accepted best practice at the time of writing. Character limits, ideal image dimensions and supported tags change. Where this site gives a number, treat it as a well-informed guideline rather than a specification.

We make no warranty, express or implied, that the analysis is complete, current or error-free.

4. Third-party content

When you check a URL, this site displays titles, descriptions and images that belong to whoever owns that page. Weblytic does not own, endorse, verify or take responsibility for any of it. The content is shown transiently, inside a preview, for the sole purpose of letting you inspect how it is configured — it is not stored, republished or served to anyone else.

All trademarks, logos, brand names and product names referred to on this site, including Google, Facebook, Meta, X, Twitter, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, WordPress and any others, are the property of their respective owners. They are used here for identification and descriptive purposes only. Their use does not imply any affiliation with, endorsement by, or sponsorship from those companies.

5. Fair use of the tool

Weblytic is offered for legitimate use: checking pages you own, pages you work on, or pages you are researching in the ordinary course of your work. It is provided free of charge, and that goodwill depends on people not abusing it.

You agree not to use this site to:

  • Run bulk or automated scraping of third-party websites.
  • Attempt to reach private networks, internal hostnames or systems you are not authorised to access.
  • Probe, overload, disrupt or reverse-engineer the service or the servers it runs on.
  • Circumvent rate limits or other protective measures.
  • Do anything unlawful, or anything that would breach the rights of a third party.

We reserve the right to restrict or block access, without notice, where we believe the service is being misused.

6. Availability

Weblytic is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that the site will be available without interruption, that it will be free of errors, or that defects will be corrected within any particular timeframe. Features may change or be withdrawn. The service may be taken down for maintenance, and may on occasion be unavailable for reasons outside our control.

7. External links

This website contains links to external sites that are not operated by us. We include them because we think they are useful, but we have no control over their content, privacy practices or availability, and we do not endorse or assume responsibility for anything found there. Following an external link is entirely at your own discretion.

8. Advertising

This site displays advertising, which is what keeps it free to use. Advertisements are selected and served by third-party networks, and their presence is not an endorsement by us of the advertiser, the product or the service being promoted. Any dealing you have with an advertiser is strictly between you and that advertiser. We are not responsible for any loss or damage arising from such dealings. How advertising cookies work is set out in our Privacy Policy.

9. No professional relationship

Reading this site, using the previewer, or contacting us does not create any professional, contractual or advisory relationship between you and Weblytic. Nothing here constitutes legal, financial, technical consulting or SEO advice specific to your circumstances. If your situation warrants professional advice, seek it from someone who can look at your particular case.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Weblytic and anyone involved in producing or operating it shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or special loss or damage arising out of, or in connection with, your use of or inability to use this website. That expressly includes lost traffic, lost revenue, lost rankings, lost data, or a social share that did not render the way you expected.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing here is intended to exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

11. Errors and corrections

We aim to keep this site accurate, and we would rather know when it is not. If you spot a mistake in the guidance, a check that fires when it should not, or a preview that misrepresents how a platform actually behaves, please tell us through the contact page. Corrections are made promptly and without fuss.

12. Changes to this disclaimer

We may revise this disclaimer from time to time. The current version is always the one published on this page, with the date of the most recent revision shown at the top. Continuing to use the site after a change indicates that you accept the revised terms.

13. Contact
